Housemade Sour Mix

Method

Housemade Sour Mix Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Sour Mix

In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Stir well until thoroughly mixed. This will yield about 3 cups of sour mix, which can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Watermelon

Take the fresh watermelon and cut it into small cubes. Measure out one cup of the cubed watermelon and set it aside.

  2. 3

    Muddle the Watermelon

In a cocktail shaker, add the cubed watermelon and muddle it gently using a muddler or the back of a spoon until it forms a juicy pulp.

  3. 4

    Add Ingredients to Shaker

To the shaker with the muddled watermelon, add 2 oz of Ritual Gin Alternative, 2 oz of cranberry juice, 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice, and a handful of fresh mint leaves.

  4. 5

    Shake the Mixture

Fill the shaker with ice cubes (about 1 cup), seal it, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

  5. 6

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with additional mint leaves and a slice of watermelon if desired.
