Blackberry Hibiscus Reduction

Lemonade

Method

Blackberry Hibiscus Reduction

  1. 1

    Prepare the Reduction

In a medium saucepan, combine the blackberries, hibiscus tea bags, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the blackberries have softened and the mixture has thickened slightly.

  3. 3

    Strain

Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down on the blackberries to extract as much liquid as possible.

  4. 4

    Add Sugar

Return the strained liquid to the saucepan, add sugar, and simmer on low heat until the sugar has completely dissolved. Set aside to cool.

Lemonade

  1. 5

    Mix Lemonade Base

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, and sugar. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 6

    Combine with Reduction

Once the blackberry hibiscus reduction has cooled, add it to the pitcher with the lemonade base and stir until well mixed.

  3. 7

    Serve

Fill glasses with ice and pour the blackberry hibiscus lemonade over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices, fresh blackberries, and mint leaves to taste.
