Cedar Plank Salmon

Sautéed Mushrooms

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Cedar Plank Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare Cedar Plank

Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour before cooking to prevent it from burning.

  2. 2

    Marinate Salmon

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dill, salt, and black pepper. Coat the salmon fillets with the marinade and let them sit for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  4. 4

    Grill Salmon

Place the soaked cedar plank on the grill. Once it's starting to smoke, place the marinated salmon on top. Close the lid and grill for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.

Sautéed Mushrooms

  1. 5

    Prepare Mushrooms

Clean the mushrooms and slice them. Finely chop the shallots.

  2. 6

    Sauté Shallots

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped shallots and sauté until translucent.

  3. 7

    Cook Mushrooms

Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until they are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 8

    Roast Garlic

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the top off the garlic head, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 30-35 minutes until soft.

  2. 9

    Boil Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 10

    Mash Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves into the pot, add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
