Method
Prepare the Mixed Berry Filling
Mix the Berries
In a large bowl, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the berries evenly.
Transfer to Baking Dish
Pour the berry mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Make the Crumble Topping
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and chopped almonds.
Add Butter
Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Top the Berries
Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the mixed berry filling.
Bake the Crumble
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake
Bake the crumble for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
Prepare the Almond Praline
Cook Sugar
In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and turns a golden amber color.
Add Almonds
Stir in the chopped almonds and cook for an additional minute, then pour onto a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
Serve
Serve Warm
Once the crumble has cooled slightly, scoop into bowls and top with shards of almond praline.
