Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the Wagyu flat iron steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with kosher salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Add the steak to the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steak and add the garlic cloves, fresh rosemary, and butter to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter and pan juices.

  6. 6

    Check Doneness

Using a meat thermometer, check for desired doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your choice of sides.
