Fried Mushrooms Ingredients

Method

Fried Mushrooms Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

Clean the fresh mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth. Remove the stems if desired, and slice the mushrooms into even pieces.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until you have a smooth batter.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  4. 4

    Coat the Mushrooms

Dip each mushroom slice into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully place the battered mushrooms into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried mushrooms from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot as an appetizer or snack.
