Prepare the Fish
Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Coat the Fish
Dip each fish fillet first in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.

Fry the Fish
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the fish fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Assemble the Sandwich
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a fried fish fillet, a slice of tomato, and a tablespoon of tartar sauce. Close the sandwich with the other half of the bun.

Serve the fish sandwiches hot with extra tartar sauce on the side if desired.
