Method

Fish Sandwich Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, beat the egg with milk.

  3. 3

    Coat the Fish

Dip each fish fillet first in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.

  4. 4

    Fry the Fish

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the fish fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a fried fish fillet, a slice of tomato, and a tablespoon of tartar sauce. Close the sandwich with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fish sandwiches hot with extra tartar sauce on the side if desired.
