Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.

Grilling the Patties

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato, a slice of onion, the cooked burger patty topped with melted Swiss cheese, and finally a generous dollop of sour cream. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.

  3. 8

    Serve

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately while hot.
