For the Sandwich

For the Marinade (optional, for roast pork)

Method

For the Marinade (optional, for roast pork)

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a blender, combine garlic cloves, orange juice, lime juice, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Pork

Place the roast pork in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it's fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

For the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the Cuban bread lengthwise, leaving one side attached to create a hinge. Spread the yellow mustard on the inside of the bread.

  2. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

Layer the roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles inside the bread.

  3. 5

    Butter the Outside

Spread the butter on the outside of the sandwich.

  4. 6

    Grill the Sandwich

Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, place a heavy pan on top of the sandwich to press it down. Grill the sandwich for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

  5. 7

    Serve

Remove the sandwich from the heat, slice diagonally, and serve warm.
