Burger Patty

Cheese and Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger bun (as it will shrink while cooking). Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assemble the Cheeseburger

  1. 6

    Toast the Bun

If desired, toast the burger bun on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard.

  3. 8

    Finish Assembly

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
