Method

Prepare Chips

  1. 1

    Cut Corn Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare Salsa

  1. 4

    Chop Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeños. Finely chop the cilantro.

  2. 5

    Mix Salsa

In a bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro. Add lime juice and salt, mixing well.

  3. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to taste.

Prepare Optional Guacamole

  1. 7

    Mash Avocados

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash with a fork or potato masher.

  2. 8

    Season Guacamole

Mix in lime juice, garlic powder, and salt. Adjust seasoning to taste.
