Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, then divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf, the beef patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and pickles on top of the condiments. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Once hot, fry the potato strips in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Optional Extras Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Coleslaw

In a bowl, mix shredded cabbage and carrots. Add mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.

  2. 9

    Serve Cottage Cheese

Scoop cottage cheese into a bowl and serve as a side.

  3. 10

    Prepare Sweet Potato Fries

Wash and peel sweet potatoes, cut them into fries, and fry in the same manner as regular fries or bake them in the oven until crispy.

  4. 11

    Make Mac & Cheese

Cook macaroni according to package instructions. In a separate pot, make a cheese sauce with butter, flour, milk, and cheese. Combine and serve warm.
