Method

Sponge Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Combine Espresso and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, mix the cooled espresso with 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur.

  3. 3

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.

Mascarpone Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Whip the Heavy Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  2. 5

    Combine Mascarpone and Sugar

In another bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 6

    Fold in the Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Layer the Mascarpone Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the soaked ladyfingers in the dish.

  2. 8

    Add Another Layer of Ladyfingers

Repeat the process by dipping and layering another set of soaked ladyfingers over the mascarpone filling.

  3. 9

    Top with Remaining Filling

Spread the remaining mascarpone filling over the second layer of ladyfingers.

Finishing Touches

  1. 10

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 11

    Prepare the Whipped Cream

Just before serving, whip the cream until stiff peaks form and spread it over the top of the tiramisu.

  3. 12

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Using a fine sieve, dust cocoa powder over the whipped cream for decoration.
