Method

Cook the Pasta

1

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

2

Cook Fettuccine

Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

3

Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Prepare Alfredo Sauce

4

Melt Butter

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

5

Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

6

Pour in Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

7

Add Cheese and Seasonings

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and ground nutmeg. Keep stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine and Serve

8

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

9

Garnish

If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese over the top before serving.

10

Serve

Serve the Fettuccine Alfredo immediately while hot, enjoying it with a side of garlic bread or salad if desired.
