Method

Preparing the Mushrooms

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Rinse the button mushrooms under cold water and dry them thoroughly with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create an even coating.

  3. 3

    Coat the Mushrooms

Dredge the cleaned mushrooms in the flour mixture until they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Frying the Mushrooms

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  2. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully add the coated mushrooms to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

Preparing the Garlic Sauce

  1. 6

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, warm the olive oil over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 7

    Finish the Sauce

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

Serving the Dish

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the fried mushrooms. Drizzle the garlic sauce generously over them.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the mushrooms and serve immediately.
