Churro Dough
Sugar Cinnamon Coating
Frying
Method
Prepare the Dough
- 1
- 2
Add the Flour
Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- 3
Incorporate Eggs
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth.
Heat the Oil
- 4
Prepare for Frying
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of dough into it; if it sizzles, it's ready.
Pipe and Fry
- 5
Pipe the Dough
Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.
- 6
Fry Until Golden
Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- 7
Drain and Cool
Once golden, remove the churros with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Coat and Serve
- 8
Mix Sugar and Cinnamon
In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- 9
- 10
Serve Immediately
Serve the churros warm with a side of chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
