Method

Preparation of Fish

1

Cut and Marinate the Fish

Cut the fresh white fish into small cubes and place them in a glass or ceramic bowl. Pour the fresh lime juice over the fish and add salt. Ensure the fish is completely submerged in the lime juice. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until the fish appears opaque and 'cooked' by the acidity of the lime juice.

Preparing the Vegetables

2

Chop the Vegetables

While the fish is marinating, finely slice the red onion and cucumber. Remove the seeds from the serrano chili, if preferred for less heat, and finely chop it. Dice the tomato and avocado. Place all the chopped vegetables in a separate bowl and mix them gently.

Combining Ingredients

3

Mix Everything Together

Once the fish is done marinating, drain excess lime juice if desired. Add the marinated fish to the bowl with the chopped vegetables. Sprinkle crushed chili flakes over the top and gently mix everything together. Adjust seasoning with more salt if needed.

Serving

4

Serve the Ceviche

Pour the shrimp broth into the ceviche mixture and stir gently. Serve the ceviche chilled in bowls, garnished with additional avocado slices if desired.
