Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and trim any excess fat. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Apply the Rub

Generously apply the dry rub mixture to both sides of the ribs. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Smoker

Soak the cherry wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  5. 5

    Smoke the Ribs

Place the ribs in the smoker and add the soaked cherry wood chips. Smoke the ribs for 4 hours, maintaining a steady temperature.

  6. 6

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the cherry BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  7. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once the ribs are done smoking, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
