Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub the ribeye steaks with olive oil on both sides, then generously season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450°F to 500°F (230°C to 260°C). This high heat is essential for a good sear.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steaks

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them for a good sear.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steaks

Using tongs, flip the steaks and grill for another 4-5 minutes on the other side for medium-rare. Adjust the time to your preferred doneness.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Optional Butter Baste

In the last minute of grilling, add butter and rosemary on top of the steaks. Use a spoon to baste the melting butter over the steaks for extra flavor.

  2. 7

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Slice the steaks against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
