In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the fettuccine pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water for later use.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 4
Add Garlic
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 5
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all flavors.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.
