Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the tomatoes and basil leaves. Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl. Tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl.

  2. 2

    Flavor the Tomato Mixture

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes and basil. Sprinkle in the salt and black pepper. Mix all ingredients gently until well combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Grilling the Bread

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick slices. You should have about 8-10 slices depending on the size of the baguette.

  2. 4

    Brush with Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over both sides of the baguette slices or use a brush to coat them evenly.

  3. 5

    Grill the Bread

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the bread slices on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Top the Grilled Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of grilled bread.

  2. 7

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter. Optionally, drizzle a little more olive oil over the top and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
