Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Hibiscus Flowers

In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Strain the Mixture

After simmering, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Then, strain the liquid into a pitcher using a fine mesh strainer to remove the hibiscus flowers.

  3. 3

    Sweeten the Drink

While the hibiscus tea is still warm, add 1 cup of sugar and stir until fully dissolved. If you prefer a less sweet drink, adjust the sugar to your taste.

  4. 4

    Add Lime Juice

Once the sugar has dissolved, add 1 cup of lime juice to the pitcher. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

  5. 5

    Chill the Drink

Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour or until completely chilled.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes (about 1/3 to 1/2 full), then pour the chilled hibiscus drink over the ice.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Enjoy

If desired, garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing hibiscus drink!
