Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly add 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated and smooth.

Cinnamon Sugar Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Preheat Oil

In a large pot, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Dough

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, about 4-6 inches long. Fry a few churros at a time to avoid overcrowding.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil.

  4. 8

    Roll in Cinnamon Sugar

Immediately roll the fried churros in the prepared cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them thoroughly.
