Half Fry Platter Ingredients
Method
Half Fry Platter Directions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips or wedges, depending on your preference.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This will help achieve a crispier fry.
- 3
Dry the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove any moisture.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Season
Once fried, remove the fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Transfer the fries to a serving platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot.
