Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mash

In a large pot, combine 3 cups of water with 0.5 cups of malted barley and 0.5 cups of corn. Heat the mixture to about 150°F (65°C) and maintain this temperature for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 2

    Boil the Wort

After mashing, strain the liquid (wort) into another pot, discarding the grains. Bring the wort to a boil and add 0.5 tablespoons of hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops if desired.

  3. 3

    Cool the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

  4. 4

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and add 1 teaspoon of yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks.

  5. 5

    Bottling

After fermentation, dissolve 0.75 cups of priming sugar in a small amount of water, then add it to the beer. Bottle the beer and cap the bottles, allowing them to carbonate for another 1-2 weeks.

  6. 6

    Enjoy

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator, pour into a glass, and enjoy your homemade Miller Lite!
