Method

Booda Kombucha Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tea

Boil 8 cups of water in a large pot. Remove from heat and add the green tea bags. Allow to steep for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Sugar

Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved. Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large glass jar or fermentation vessel, add the cooled sweet tea, 1 cup of starter tea, and the SCOBY.

  4. 4

    Fermentation

Cover the jar with a clean cloth and secure it with a rubber band. Place it in a warm, dark place for 7-14 days, depending on your taste preference.

  5. 5

    Flavoring

After fermentation, remove the SCOBY and set it aside. If desired, add grated ginger, lemon juice, and any other fruits for additional flavor.

  6. 6

    Second Fermentation (Optional)

Transfer the flavored kombucha into bottles, leaving some space at the top. Seal tightly and let sit at room temperature for 3-7 days to carbonate.

  7. 7

    Refrigerate and Serve

After carbonation, refrigerate the bottles. Serve chilled and enjoy your homemade Booda Kombucha!
