Method

Cooking the Ribeye

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the ribeye on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Making Herbed Butter

  1. 5

    Prepare the Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the unsalted butter, chopped parsley, thyme, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.

  2. 6

    Chill the Butter

Spoon the herbed butter onto a piece of plastic wrap and roll it into a log shape. Refrigerate until firm.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 8

    Prepare the Garlic

While the potatoes are boiling, roast the head of garlic by wrapping it in foil and placing it in the oven at 400°F for 25-30 minutes until soft.

  3. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves from their skins into the potatoes. Add heavy cream, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 10

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add asparagus and carrots. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
