Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, and then add the milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a little oil if necessary.

  5. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Pour enough batter into the waffle iron to cover the surface. Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crispy, usually about 5-7 minutes.

Protein Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Protein of Choice

While the waffles are cooking, prepare your protein option. If using bacon or sausage, ensure they are cooked and warmed. For chicken, shred or chop the cooked chicken. For scrambled eggs, cook them in a separate pan until fluffy.

Serving

  1. 7

    Assemble and Serve

Once the waffles are cooked, place a half waffle on a plate and top with your choice of protein. Serve immediately with syrup, fresh fruits, or any desired toppings.
