Base Ingredients

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Base Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 2

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.

Flavoring

  1. 3

    Prepare Chocolate Flavor

For chocolate ice cream, add the cocoa powder to the chilled base mixture and whisk until fully combined.

  2. 4

    Prepare Strawberry Flavor

For strawberry ice cream, add the pureed strawberries to the chilled base mixture and whisk until fully combined.

Churning

  1. 5

    Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the flavored mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Freezing

  1. 6

    Freeze the Ice Cream

Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Serving

  1. 7

    Scoop and Serve

Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones. You can serve two scoops for an additional $1.00 or three scoops for an additional $2.00.
