Brownies

Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar until well combined. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the eggs.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Mix in 4 large eggs, one at a time, followed by 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

  6. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  7. 7

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool in the pan.

Hot Fudge

  1. 8

    Prepare the Fudge Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and starts to simmer.

  2. 9

    Add Butter and Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until the butter is fully melted and incorporated.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Serve the Brownie Ala Mode

Cut the cooled brownies into squares. Place a brownie square on a plate, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and drizzle with hot fudge sauce. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Enjoy!
