Sushi Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Sushi Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

Once the rice is cooked, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved, then gently fold it into the rice. Allow it to cool.

Prepare Fillings

  1. 3

    Prepare the Ingredients

Slice the tuna, salmon, unagi, and avocado into thin strips.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ebi

Boil the ebi for about 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through, then drain and cool.

  3. 5

    Prepare Crab

If using imitation crab, shred it into bite-sized pieces.

Make Tempura

  1. 6

    Prepare Tempura Batter

Mix the tempura batter mix with water according to package instructions. Heat oil in a frying pan.

  2. 7

    Fry the Tempura

Dip slices of avocado into the batter and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Assemble the Roll

  1. 8

    Roll the Sushi

Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat, spread an even layer of sushi rice over it, leaving a small border at the top. Layer tuna, salmon, unagi, ebi, crab, and fried avocado on top of the rice.

  2. 9

    Roll and Cut

Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you. Apply slight pressure to form a tight roll. Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 6-8 pieces.

Serve

  1. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Drizzle unagi sauce over the sliced rolls and serve immediately with soy sauce and wasabi.
