Cake Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.

Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and peanut butter. Mix until smooth.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cakes
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack.

Add Butter and Cream
Remove from heat, then carefully stir in the butter until melted. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream until smooth.

Stir in the vanilla extract and set aside to cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Drizzle with caramel sauce, then top with whipped cream.
