Fries
Method
Preparing the Fries
- 1
Cut the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even-sized fries, about 1/4 inch thick to ensure even cooking.
- 2
Soak the Fries
Soak the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps to make them crispier.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- 4
Season the Fries
Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with a towel. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 5
Bake the Fries
Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- 6
Add Parmesan
Remove fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese while they are hot. Toss gently to ensure even distribution.
