Method

Wonton Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp, ground pork, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle, and press to seal. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Noodle Soup Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to taste.

  2. 4

    Cook the Wontons

Gently add the filled wontons to the boiling broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and are cooked through.

  3. 5

    Cook the Noodles

In a separate pot, cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  4. 6

    Assemble the Soup

In serving bowls, place a portion of the cooked rice noodles, ladle the wonton soup over the noodles, and garnish with sliced scallions.
