Herbal Tea Ingredients
Method
Herbal Tea Preparation
- 1
Boil Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Prepare Herbs
While the water is boiling, measure out 1 cup each of dried chamomile flowers, dried peppermint leaves, and dried hibiscus petals. Also, measure 0.5 cup of dried lemon balm leaves.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Once the water has reached a boil, remove it from the heat. Add all the measured dried herbs to the pot of hot water, stirring gently to combine.
- 4
Steep Herbs
Cover the pot and let the herbal mixture steep for about 10-15 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor will be.
- 5
Strain the Tea
After the steeping time is complete, use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the tea into a teapot or heatproof pitcher, discarding the solids.
- 6
Sweeten the Tea
While the tea is still warm, add 2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup to taste, stirring until fully dissolved.
- 7
Serve
Serve the herbal tea warm in cups. If desired, add fresh lemon slices for an extra burst of flavor.
