Clams Oreganata
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Clams
Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 3
Make the Topping
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the bread crumbs, chopped parsley, dried oregano, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
- 4
Arrange the Clams
Place the clams in a single layer in a baking dish. Pour the white wine over the clams.
- 5
Add the Topping
Spoon the breadcrumb mixture evenly over each clam, ensuring that they are well covered.
- 6
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the clams open and the topping is golden brown.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with additional lemon juice if desired.
