Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Dredge the Chicken
Place the flour in a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, place the breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- 3
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top, then cover each with 1 cup of marinara sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- 5
Bake the Chicken
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Cook the Pasta
While the chicken is baking, cook the linguine according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 7
Serve
Once the chicken is done, remove from the oven. Serve the chicken parmigiana over a bed of linguine, garnished with fresh basil.
