Oysters
Method
Preparation and Serving
- 1
Prepare the oysters
Place the oysters in a bowl and rinse them under cold running water to remove any sand or debris.
- 2
Shuck the oysters
Using an oyster knife, carefully shuck each oyster by inserting the knife into the hinge and twisting it to open the shell. Discard the top shell and leave the oyster in the bottom shell.
- 3
Prepare the serving platter
Fill a large serving platter with ice to keep the oysters cold.
- 4
Arrange the oysters
Place the shucked oysters on the bed of ice, ensuring they are stable and won’t tip over.
- 5
Serve with accompaniments
Serve the oysters with lemon wedges, hot sauce, and mignonette sauce on the side. Garnish with fresh parsley.
