Base Ingredients

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly. Mix in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur until dissolved. Set aside.

Making the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.

  2. 3

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  3. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Gently fold in 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth. Then gently fold in the whipped cream until fully combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 5

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not mushy.

  2. 6

    Layer the Tiramisu

In a rectangular dish, arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 7

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 8

    Serve the Tiramisu

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
