Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly. Mix in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur until dissolved. Set aside.
Making the Mascarpone Mixture

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Egg Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Combine Ingredients
Gently fold in 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth. Then gently fold in the whipped cream until fully combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not mushy.

Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
Chilling and Serving

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve the Tiramisu
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
