Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper. Let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the ribeye steak to the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Butter and Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add butter and fresh rosemary to the skillet. Use a spoon to baste the steak with the melted butter.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into even-sized chunks. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.

  2. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 7

    Cook the Garlic

In the last 5 minutes of cooking the potatoes, add the garlic cloves to the pot. This will infuse the potatoes with garlic flavor.

  4. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
