Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot enough for baking the garlic bread.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic Butter Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic (about 4 cloves), chopped parsley, chopped basil, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  3. 3

    Slice the Bread

Carefully slice the baguette or French bread in half lengthwise. You can also slice it into smaller pieces if desired for easier serving.

  4. 4

    Spread the Mixture

Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet, cut side up. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the butter has melted.

  2. 6

    Add Cheese

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic buttered side of the bread.

  3. 7

    Broil for Extra Crispiness

Return the bread to the oven and switch the oven setting to broil. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once the bread is out of the oven, let it cool for a minute before slicing if you haven't already. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
