Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until the ingredients are evenly distributed, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Prepare the Toppings
- 5
Chop the Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, rinse and dry the lettuce leaves. Tear them into bite-sized pieces. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.
- 6
Prepare the House Sauce
In a small bowl, prepare your house sauce (this could be a mix of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, or any special blend you prefer).
Assemble the Burger
- 7
Toast the Buns
If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
- 8
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked beef patty, tomato slice, and a generous dollop of house sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
