Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Romaine Lettuce

Wash the organic romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Chop and Mix

Chop the romaine into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

Herb Croutons Preparation

  1. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed French bread, olive oil, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  3. 5

    Prepare Baking Sheet

Spread the coated bread cubes evenly on a baking sheet.

  4. 6

    Bake Croutons

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through.

  5. 7

    Cool Croutons

Remove from the oven and let cool before adding to the salad.

Parmesan Crisp Preparation

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven for Crisps

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 9

    Prepare Baking Sheet for Crisps

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place small mounds of grated Parmesan cheese (about 1 tablespoon each) on the parchment, leaving space between each mound.

  3. 10

    Bake Parmesan Crisps

Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

  4. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and allow to cool and harden before carefully removing the crisps from the parchment.

Parmesan Dressing Preparation

  1. 12

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and minced garlic.

  2. 13

    Season Dressing

Whisk together until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 14

    Store Dressing

Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.

Assembly

  1. 15

    Combine Ingredients

In the large salad bowl with the romaine, add the herb croutons and drizzle with the Parmesan dressing.

  2. 16

    Toss Salad

Toss gently until everything is well coated.

  3. 17

    Finish and Serve

Top the salad with the Parmesan crisps just before serving.
