Method

Cooking Pasta and Sausage

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the radiatori pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into smaller pieces as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Sauté Swiss Chard

In the same skillet, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add chopped Swiss chard and cook until wilted, around 3-4 minutes. Return the sausage to the skillet and stir to combine.

Breadcrumb Topping

  1. 4

    Prepare Breadcrumb Mixture

In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs, lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 5

    Top and Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large baking dish, combine the cooked pasta, sausage, and Swiss chard mixture. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Dish

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
