Panna Cotta Ingredients

Method

Panna Cotta Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gelatin

In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften.

  2. 2

    Heat the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Add Vanilla

Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Gelatin

Add the softened gelatin mixture to the warm cream mixture and stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

  5. 5

    Pour into Molds

Pour the panna cotta mixture into individual molds or serving cups. Allow them to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  6. 6

    Chill

Cover the molds with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

  7. 7

    Serve

To serve, gently run a knife around the edges of the panna cotta and invert onto a plate or serve directly in the cups. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
