Ingredients for Rotelle Bolognese
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
- 2
Brown the Meat
Add the ground beef, ground pork, and ground veal to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking the meat apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Add Liquids and Herbs
Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- 4
Slow Cook the Ragu
Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the sauce simmer for at least 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the better the flavor.
- 5
Cook the Pasta
About 15 minutes before serving, cook the rotelle pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked rotelle pasta with the Bolognese sauce. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
