Meatballs and Sandwich Assembly
Method
Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Make the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwiches
In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- 5
Build the Meatball Parmigiano
Slice the torpedo rolls in half. Place 2-3 meatballs on each roll, spooning sauce over the top. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled sandwiches under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
