Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Butter

Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the cut biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Serve

Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with coffee.
