Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. Some lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook Waffles

Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup depending on the size of your waffle iron. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown, usually about 5-7 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Prepare Toppings

While the waffles are cooking, warm the maple syrup in a small saucepan over low heat. Prepare your fresh fruit by washing and slicing as needed.

  2. 7

    Plate the Waffles

Once the waffles are cooked, remove them from the waffle iron and place them on a serving plate.

  3. 8

    Add Toppings

Dust the waffles with powdered sugar, drizzle with warmed maple syrup, and serve with a side of fresh fruit.
