Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop Vegetables

Chop the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and set aside.

  2. 2

    Rinse Beans

Rinse the kidney beans under cold water and drain.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook Turkey

Add the ground turkey to the pot. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Spices

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Beans

Add the canned diced tomatoes (with juice) and kidney beans to the pot. Stir to combine.

  5. 7

    Pour in Broth

Pour in the chicken broth and stir well. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  6. 8

    Simmer

Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
